Congratulations to Scott. He has officially taken over this week as our day custodian and lead for the night custodial crew. Scott, we are so excited to have you as our Carson FOM (Facilities Operations Manager). Kudos… To Jennifer for having National Geographics and other books available to the staff to use as they implement GLAD strategies in their classrooms…...Due to implement weather, school began two hours late this past Tuesday. Thanks to the staff for being flexible and helping out where needed.....To Denita and the Sunshine Committee for putting smiles on our faces by bringing tasty pies and apple cider……….Thank you for giving us the opportunity to creatively express all of the reasons we have to be thankful…….

Report Cards: Be sure to take a look at the Report Card Inof on the right hand column of the blog. It is a great quick reference as you work on report cards. I have updated the names, added a couple fo extra sentences for clarification, and deleted last year's procedures for the network since they are not applicable this year. The deadline to submit report cards to Andrea or Arturo is Monday, Nov. 29th. We also accept them early! Happy report carding!
Carson Instructional Basics: **Consistent use of our sound fields. Even if we have those great voices that carry. **Posting and stating learning objective for reading and math. Two years ago it was an intro with reading, last year was the intro with math, this year we should have both as a minimum.
Thanksgiving Break: Keep in mind that our school will officially be closed during Thanksgiving so be sure to sign in and be cognizant of the alarm if you are visiting the building over the break and weekend.
REACH for it! A few of you have mentioned that you have already taken the opportunity to teach REACH lessons in your classrooms. The REACH literature and lessons are vital to creating culturally responsive classrooms. We encourage all of you to use the REACH binder lessons early in the school year. For those of you who are new to the building, the REACH binders are located in the Library. Remember to fill out the log indicating your name, grade level, the lesson title, the date you taught the lesson and your feedback about the lesson. It’s not too early to set aside REACH related art work that will be put on display at the Diversity Cultural Arts Fair in the spring.
Report Cards: Many of you are working hard to get your report cards done before the 24th of November. Jennifer has offered support with translation. Feel free to contact Jennifer Torgeson in # 120 to receive a English –to- Spanish report card comment packet. Thanks, Jennifer!
Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO): The deadline for turning in your ELO application is December 1st. Through ELO, we can provide academic interventions to our students. A carefully planned intervention plays a key role in helping our students experience greater acheivement. Please submit your ELO application electronically to Arturo or Andrea on or before the deadline, as it will take a week to process (that means this week).
