WASL Attendance Incentive: Please be sure to verify that the students who are participating in the WASL Attendance Incentive Recess were at school every day and on time. If a tardy slip was received then they were not on time. This is intended for individual students rather than it being a class event. I was asked about teachers volunteering to come out and supervise those students who did not get perfect attendance but worked hard when they were here-Please do not do this for those students who did not meet this criteria because then it defeats the purpose for the rest.
Olweus Topic of the Week: Celebrating Success: Now that the WASL has passed short of a few make-up tests (Thanks, Patti!), we are on the countdown to the end of the year. Continuing with our goals conversation from last week, name 3 goals that you have met already this year. What are some you are still working on? What was it that helped you succeed at some goals already? What is holding you back on others? Who can help you if you are stuck? How can you help someone else who is stuck?
This week is collaboration week. This week is collaboration week for sp. ed. specialists. Please keep in mind that they are also available for consults/observations.
Interested in Becoming an LEA Rep? LEA Rep Training. Principals may select certificated staff to attend IEP meetings as an LEA Representative. Principals should delegate this responsibility carefully. As an LEA Rep, this individual will be representing the district. An LEA Rep is required at every IEP meeting. We realize how busy principals are and there may be an occasional need to delegate this responsibility. The following dates/times are available for training at PSS: (These trainings are for staff who have not attended a training in the past). April 3:30-4:00 Elementary-PSS Burgundy Rm May 14th 3:30-4:00 Elementary-PSS Burgundy Rm
New Staff to Carson: In addition to the regular placement and reshuffle that happens each year with itinerant staff, we are just beginning the involuntary transfer process which will overlap into the RIF pool process. This means that we can anticipate numerous staffing announcements throughout the rest of the school year. We already have a number of changes. We will be announcing these on our teacher bulletin as they occur. We welcome:
Counselors: Erynn Acree (.8 FTE); Claudia Knauss (.2)
Grade 4: Patti Nance
Grade 6: Debby Douglas, Kim Shore, Diana Haug
Committee Updates: Please be sure to click on our committees on the right column. Diversity and Leadership met this week. Check out the notes!
