Olweus: I have a dream...What would a perfect school playground look like? How would the students behave in this place? How close is Carson to looking like your dream playground? What would we need to do to make it match your dream?
The Ned Show: The assemblies are approx. 45 minutes in length so we are going to need to transition into the commons as efficiently as possible. The office will again be calling grade levels. The NED Show stands for Never give up, Enourage others, Do your best. This is a character building assembly with a basic core message that every child can be a champion at school and therefore in life. A bit of an antibullying message is also included. In exchange for the assembly being free, PTA will be selling yo-yo's for the week. BE SURE TO TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO STRESS YO YO ETIQUETTE FOR RECESS BEHAVIOR WITH YOUR STUDENTS. :)
Quest Program: Please keep in mind that we no longer offer Quest for first graders. We have self-contained Quest for grades 3-6 at Brouillet only. If you need information on the process please see Erynn.
Grandparents Day Format: This year's format has the grade level sponsoring Grandparents Day eating in the commons; all other grades will eat in their classrooms. The gym wall will also be opened to accommodate a more comfortable arrangement. Switching Classroom/Commons Lunches: The end of the first trimester is at the end of January. This means that we will be swapping places with grade levels that are split between eating in the room and cafeteria.
New AR Code: Amber sent out an email with the new password for monitor override. We needed to create a new password because students are using the old one which they have gotten from teachers. Please do not share with your students; there shouldn't be a reason for them to override the perameters that you have set. If they do need to be changed, then teachers do have the option to customize a student's AR perameters. See Amber, Miles or Arturo if you have any questions. Thanks.
Cart Storage Locations: You will notice that the carts have a storage location taped to them. Please be sure to return the cart to it's storage location when you are finished using it-even if found elsewhere.
Next Year: As we begin to move through this second part of the year we will again have those unstoppable adjustments in the number of class sections, anticipated openings, and unexpected changes. Please take some time to reflect and let Arturo know if you would like to be considered for a different grade level position. This information will be referenced as openings become available rather than sending out individual calls for interest.
