Friday Treats Now Wednesday: This change is made in an effort to address concerns of student issues with treats during recess, students sneaking through the line before lunch and purchasing items, and the location of the Friday treats station in relation to food service. Starting this Wednesday, Friday treats will be moved to Wednesday. The new location is on the stage. This accomplishes several things: the station is technically in a 'separate room' by being on the stage to comply with guidelines, it is easier to monitor that students have already purchased lunches and gives less opportunity for those students who are trying to make purchases too early. As with first time changes, it will most likely take one or two times to work out the details, but it's a plan that PTA can support and we hope it will make things better.
Missoula Children's Theater: The Missoula Children's Theater will be here for the week. If you didn't have a chance to read the last school newsletter, please take a moment to do so. It speaks to the rehearsal schedule. Please also keep in mind that the gym, commons, and stage will be used after school all week.
Fundraising Events: More info to come on our second food drive and Pennies for Patients. These are the two non-profit events that we have committed to for this year. It's March Gladness time!
Divider between Gym and Commons: The wall hasn't been opening and closing correctly. The contractor will be here on Monday to take a look at it. Either this week or in the near future our access may be limited due to work being done.
Fry Website: FYI from Crystal---I was not sure if you sent this out. My daughter's 6th grade teacher passed this on to her class. I went on and there's some pretty cool stuff. The list goes on to 1,000 words and would make sense that 5th grade look at maybe working with the 8 hundred-1K word lists.
