Week of January 16-20, 2011Carson Kudos...To Jill for a great Martin Luther King, Jr. Assembly…….We received Kudos from our Chief Academic Officer, Amy Eveskcige who wrote: “What a great assembly! Your students were so respectful, coming in and sitting quietly. The performance was so well organized including not only the essence of MLK but incorporating aspects of the dream to include others.” ...To the 4th grade teachers Erlinda, Sandi, Stephanie, Kara and Tammy for being present and helping out on the evening of the MLK program… To Sarah and Mary for preparing our Carson Ambassadors to welcome our guest at the MLK assembly...To Michelle for working with our students with CNN. Our students are growing in their ability to report and cover a variety of topics…….To 5th and 6th grade teachers Crystal, Kristen, Patti, Emily and Michelle, Graham, Ed, Tabitha and Lauri and Jennifer Torgerson for attending WICOR Training this week…..To Teri and Donna in Food Service for always being patient and welcoming to our students…….To Lindsay and Amber for coming to school over winter break so our students could take AR test………Carson Coyotes Succeed Everyday!

Bridges Questions for Janis Hiegl:Bridges training is scheduled to take place at Carson on our PR day Wednesday, February 1, 2012. PACK representatives should email questions for Janis to Andrea & Arturo address by Tuesday, January 17th. They will be forwarded to Janis. This will give her ample time to prepare for our workshop time together. Please note that this is different from our question chart set up outside the staff room.
Olweus Overview: This Wednesday Lorraine Sanford will be joining us to give us a good overview of the Olweus program and its implementation at Carson over the course of the year.
DIBELS Testing: Please note that DIBELS testing begins this week. Please be sure to make this adjustment for gym use.
McTeacher Night: Jessica, our PTA president, will be putting a sign-up sheet in the staff room area. Don't forget to sign up if you are intersted in participating. Also, please incude this announcement in your school newsletters.
Classrooms Locked: A reminder that classrooms should be locked (not just the door closed) when the teacher is not in the classroom. This includes between transitions, when in the cafeteria, etc. Thanks.
Math Night is Scheduled!: Math Night is on the calendar for March 13th (Tuesday) 6-7:30pm so mark your calendars. More specific information to come.
