Red Ribbon Week Activities: 1) CNN announcement 2) Classroom visit/mini-lesson from Mr. Cooksley (will schedule with teachers), 3) Red Ribbon bracelet distribution coinciding with personal commitment contracts (will schedule time as a grade level for exchange). Check out the national website sponsoring this effort (http://cmnfp.pictco.org/default.asp):

Pumpkin Chucking: Third grade will again be putting science in action with their traditional (yes, two years) event on the field. The action starts at approx. 9:00 am. 3:1 Model: The week of October 27 is my collaboration week, as part of the 3:1 service model. Keep in mind that if you would like to access Kim please complete the form she sent out via email last week. She can assist in setting up in-class, small groups for improved handwriting skills (to include para training), give class instruction on pre-handwriting exercises
Remember that scheduling preference will be given to those teachers/classes who currently have students receiving OT on their IEP.

Spirit Day: Our spirit day falls on Friday right along with Halloween. In support of Red Ribbon week we will have a hat day for our students (and staff). The theme is 'Hats Off to Spirit Week.' Last year we did a great job of not making the not dressing up in costumes not worthy of much conversation-looking forward to another such uneventful event. For those people who ask if the theme day is an attempted substitute for this holiday, the anser is 'nope.' We have a theme day the last Friday of every month...the first theme day of the year just happened to fall on Holloween.

Innisbrook Fundraiser: Delivery will be this Monday. Please keep this in mind for those students with smaller order and parents picking up items. Please add info to your swift accounts and encourage then to pick up on Monday.

Projectors: Please remember to shut off your projectors when not in use during extended periods of time during the school day. We are having random ones throughout teh building that are being left on overnight; once the bulb burns out that it is about $300 to replace. Yikes!

Veteran's Day: Sarah has placed a copy of the family Veteran info sheet in your boxes. These can be posted in the hallways such as the ramp to the lunchroom and other open spaces in the front entry area that are tackable surfaces. Karen has extra copies of the form if needed.

Election Info: The voter registration sign up sheet is in your boxes. There are two pages for you to use. Please print each student's name on the form that is registered to vote. Please also include your name as a registered voter as well. These need to be turned in to Miles by the end of the day on Thursday. PTA will assemble them for the actual voting which will occur on Monday, November 3rd. Students will be dressing up red, white, and blue on the Monday in honor of our school election process.
Also, Lindsay has created a sign-up sheet for the voting. Please choose a time. She has placed it on the round desk connected to Karen's area. There will be two classes voting every 15 minutes throughout the day on the following Monday.

Olweus Topic: Do kids ever call you mean names, or tease you? Talk more about how you feel and what you do when this happens.
