Cheers to all! Thank you for coming down and enjoying some brats and rootbeer in honor of Oktoberfest! Although the leiterhosen were missing, it was still a great time...cheers!

Voting: Voting will take place in the foyer. Knowing that we have 34 classroom to process, we are anticipating having a classroom in and out in of the voting area every 15 minutes. It would help greatly if students are prepped and ready to go when they get to polls-we're not anticipating having the poles open extra hours! Also, reminders to not use the main hall by the foyer during the afternoon today (Friday) or throughout voting day on Monday. Please have classes use alternate routes and be patient with transitions. Thanks for enabling our PTA to set up and run a fun day on Monday!
Fire Drill: Our fire drill will be in the afternoon and will occur either before second recess or just following. Please keep in mind that weather is also always a factor.
Bus Drills: They are back again. We start at approx. 9 am. Please check with Karen for your approx. time.
Honoring Cultures Campaign: Information was distributed at the Carson Diversity Committee meeting. If you have follow up questions, please contact Janet. Please refer to the minutes from meeting (see right hand column) as to the intent and type of artwork (it goes beyond just 'diversty'), etc. This will be updated later today on the Diversity blog.
A.R. Cut-Off Dates Adjusted: We are needing to make an adjustment for A.R. fall trimester cut-off due to having set the dates before we were aware of the report card due dates. Miles and I have been chatting with different grade levels these last few days trying to determine what is the best cut-off date for A.R. and it seems like we have as many suggestions as we have grade levels. Therefore, we are going to be working off of the date that we will be accepting report cards which is Friday, November 21st; taking into consideration that many teachers include AR comments in report card and so for many it it does entail more than simply inputing a score. The two main discussion points which helped with this decision was a general consensus that regardless of deadline those students who will work to meet the goal will do so, and there is enough time for students to make the necessary adjustment on their weekly AR pacing schedule. Amber did verify that the other A.R. trimester cut-off dates fall in line with the report card due dates: 2nd Trimester/March 6, 3rd Trimester/June 5.
