WATCHDOG Program: We will have the kickoff meeting this Tuesday, 6:00-7:00 pm. Please talk it up with your students at the end of the day on Monday. If students lost their flyer, they can bring a note that identifies that they will be attending with their Dad/father figure. Please emphasize that this is intended for Carson age children only (no little brothers or sisters). A phone call using our new SchoolMessenger system was sent out October 11th to let all Carson families know about this event.
Behavior Expectations: Miles and I will be connecting with teachers beginning on Monday to schedule short presentations. They will take approximately 20 minutes each. We will be starting off by covering lining up and recess expectations. Please plan on staying with the students during this time. By Monday afternoon you will also find a link on the blog that has the information written down. If there are no corrections then a hard copy will be sent to you via email for your reference.
Flex Time: Please email Karen sometime this week to let her know if your start time is either 7:30 am or 8:00 am on non-LIC Wednesdays. (Everyone has an 8:00 am official start time on Wednesdays.) This way we'll know if you are in the building or not. We've had a couple of challenges already tracking down some teachers for parent contact. Thank you.
Book Fair: Our book fair is scheduled for the week of the 22nd. Please be sure to include this info in your newsletters. This event has been turned over to the school for this first year. Any request for information can be labeled 'book fair' and put in the PTA box.

Work continues on the school. If you're wondering about the bricks at our entrance they were replaced during the weekend. Although they met safety guidelines, they weren't as level as we would have liked them.
If you get the opportunity, please take a moment to thank Carole for all her hard work here at Carson. She has been phenomenal. She is with us as a sub on a week by week basis.
Great job to our third graders from Danielle and Sarah's classroom as they performed Johnny Appleseed, John Henry, Sacagawea, the Pilgrim's First Year, and Christopher's Dream.
The Gonzalez' recently took a trip to Spokane. While we were there the girls took a tour of Gonzaga. Please take a moment to just weave in the phrase 'when you go to college..." sometime during the week. It will be the first time some of our Carson kiddos have heard it...and it's never too early to start getting ready!
