Dedicaton: thank you all for a superb dedication. The hits, obviously were the kids. After the event, the two mentions by our guests were the wonderful job the greeters did and the great performance by singers who truly made it a celebration.

Although everyone pitched in, flexed with unexpected changes, and made it all work, we do need to recognize that significant effort by the following individuals: Maria for volunteering to incorporate a musical piece and giving our program style; Carol our custodian who started her day at 6:30 am transplanting plants for display in front of the school and was everywhere doing everything to assuring the building was ready; Office Staff for helping with everything from driving directions, delivering balloons, making ribbons for students, covering calls due to late dismissal, and providing great ideas like the Chestnut tree; and Miles for coordinating a number of presenters, getting down to necessary details, and helping people stay focused.

Thank you all!

ELL Program: The ELL program will be starting the week of October 15th. Since we are all out of instructional space, please be aware that the ELL staff will be using the project rooms for instruction. I will touch bases with you as to what project room they may use (or you can touch bases with me). We currently have 49 students who qualify for ELL services. We are the second highest site in the district.

Project Rooms: A friendly reminder that the project rooms are flexible instructional spaces. Please also keep in mind that we will most likely have more use of the instructional spaces than originally anticipated by itinerant staff. In addition to ELL, LAP and other specialists may be using the rooms for small group instruction. This obviously will take a coordinated effort. Such scheduling should occur well before any staff 'arrive' to use the room. There's nothing worse than being caught unprepared.

Confidentiality: Although the importance of having confidential conversations in a secure setting was mentioned at the Wednesday staff meeting,

Coffee Mornings on Fridays: There is small group starting to get together at Forza's by the Super Walmart at around 7:00'ish in the a.m. Everyone is invited to join. It will be the last day of each week that we see students (that means it will be this Wednesday). Come for a warm drink or just the great company. We're also open to suggestions as to another morning location. See you there.

LID Day: It's a full day on Thursday. We will be working between the library and computer lab. Don't forget that it will be a potluck lunch. Please take a look in the staff lounge for the sign up sheet. That way we won't end up with ten different dips but no chips!
