Report Cards: Report cards should be completed by Thursday. Karen will be printing all the report cards on a schedule early next week. Miles and Arturo will let you know if they add any additional comments to the report cards (they will identify the comments as coming from the principal). If you have questions, please don't hesitate to see us. Please let the office know when you have finished your report cards. As a first time, we realize that we're all a little nervous with how this will get pulled off...we're using the Carson optimistic glasses on this one...join us with some positive vibes.

PACK Leadership: Agenda will include: I-728, ELO Update, WASL Prep, Grandparents Day format for Carson

Spirit Day: Our theme is school colors; primary color is maroon with complimentary colors of gold and grey.

REACH Read Alouds: Please don't forget to keep track of your read alouds. In addition, we would like to put a comprehensive slideshow for the end of the year celebration, a benefit for both Carson and PSD ODA, so we want to be sure that we are taking pictures of any bulletin boards/displays/events/presenters that occur throughout the year. If you don't have a camera, Karen has one in the office that you can borrow. Submit the pictures to either Miles or Arturo. Thanks.

A call for a March Gladness Volunteer: There is a March Gladness Leadership meeting scheduled for this Wednesday, November 28th, 1:40-3:00 at BJH. If you are interested in representing Carson please let Miles or Arturo know.

Letters of Character: Teachers may be approached for letters of good character by parents. Usually this is sparked by legal issues surrounding the family; specifically: divorce, child custody issues, parenting plans, etc. Please note that as PSD educators we are not permitted to write letters of character. The normal protocol is that if a parent makes such a request, the request is referred to either Miles and Arturo. The information that we do provide centers on the child rather than a parent. We do not provide direct or indirect content that would help to identify one as the better parent. Any other requests for information regarding a parent require a subpoena. As an individual you may certainly write a character letter, however, you cannot do so representing yourself as a teacher in the Puyallup School District or include school content. If you have questions or clarification is needed, please visit with either Mile or Arturo

Emails: This is a proactive reminder to please keep email content appropriate. New interpretations in disclosure requests has required the district to provide pretty much any kind of information that has been requested by other organizations, including the press. Keeping in mind that almost everything can be retrieved electronically, including deleted emails, we want to be senstive to the content of our emails and communication. On a somewhat related note, please remember that there is a PSD bulletin board that is maintained by the district. This was put in place to eliminate in-building and in-district communication through the regular email regarding buying or selling of items, or side businesses.

Damage to Furniture: If you are having intentional damage to furniture by students, please let the office know immediately after you have become aware of the damage. Waiting until later will most likely not allow us the option of having families compensate the school for the damage. We are expected to use what we have for at least the next 30 years so we want to do everything possible to keep it looking great.
