Late Start/School Closure: Winter weather is projected to really come down this week. Please keep in mind that we have a new procedure regarding staff notifications of a late start or school cancellation. The district will now be sending out an all staff notification using the automated SchoolMessenger system. If you have questions please don't hesitate to give us a call on our cells. Arturo: 370-1691/Miles 720-4465
New Committee Memberships: A friendly reminder that we are into the opportunity of rotating our membership on committees. If you are interested in continuing...Great! If you would like to give others the opportunity...please share with your grade level and find a replacement. Please let Arturo and/or Miles know either way.Ice Skate Night: Although this is a PTA event, it would be great if you point it out on Tuesday. There needs to be at least 60 students attending in order for the PTA to at least break even. It's great fun as both a skater or spectator!Pizza on Friday: We're providing some pizza in the staff room for our hard working staff. We appreciate the time and effort that you give for the children. Thank you!
Student Learning Plans:Carson currently has 245 Student Learning Plans on file for students in grades 4, 5, and 6. A reminder that there are three sections (parent, student, and school) that need to be completed by January 31st. A look at our school indicates that we only have 162 plans that have all three sections completed. Knowing that teachers addressed SLP's with parents during conferences in October, my money is that the following has most likely happened: a hard copy of the SLP was run off and completed with the student and the parent during conferences and have been filed in the classroom. What needs to happen is that the information be transferred to the system. Unfortunately, Miles and I are only able to see the school totals and so cannot communicate with those individuals who may not be aware that the info has not updated for their students. Please take a moment early this week to verify that your plans on updated on the system. Again, these are due by January 31st. If you have questions, please see Miles or Arturo.
3:1 Collaborative Model: This is the second collaborative week using the 3:1 collaborative service model for speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy. During this week we will be working on collaborative activities to support students so your students will NOT be pulled out for therapy at their usual times. Please remind your students to remain in their classrooms. If you have speech students that you would like us to specifically target next week, please let us know and we will put a form in your box to fill out so that we will know exactly how we an assist you and your students. Thank you so much. Belinda Sutter & Susan Adkins
WASL Inquiries: A reminder that inquiries by parents to review the WASL booklets, etc. are handled by student learning. Please let the office know that you have referred parents to Bob Silverman's office. They are anticipating working with parents again this year; they did a great job last year.

Groundhog Day is Saturday!
