Karen out This week: Please take into consideration that Karen Howard is gone this week on approved leave. Luckily, our own Marla will be filling in-which means we have a sub in the building. Whenever we have any such changes in office staff there can be some disruption to the flow of things.
LIC Wednesday: This is another district training with a focus on the Math Standards. We will be starting at 1:30 due to the fact that Maplewood and Firgrove will be joining us. Please flex your time to accommodate that the training will be two hours.
Spirit Day: Our official spirit day was last Friday. However, it has been moved to this Friday. In support of the Pennies for Patients fundraiser, the theme will be crazy hair day. Our fundraiser ends this Friday. We're just under $1,000. Please encourage your class for this very worthwhile charity.
Fire Drill: We have a fire drill scheduled for Tuesday. Don't forget that we don't publish the time anymore due to county responder feedback. The drill may be rescheduled dependent upon the weather.
Olweus Topic of the Week: "At Carson, we believe everyone can 'succeed every day!' What are some areas you are often successful in? What can you do to succeed at your behavior?"
Lost and Found: Please take a moment sometime this week, such as when you from PE, to run students through the lost and found. It is overflowing.
Grandparents Day: As per our last staff meeting discussion, we have designated a two week period for Granparents Day. I realize that some individuals have submitted dates to Karen already. However, many do no fall within the window. Please revisit this with Karen/Marla, regardless of what date you may have already given.
CNN: It has gone out via utube. We've noticed that only about half of the classrooms have actually viewed it the last two weeks. Please see Miles if you would like a refresher on how to make the change painless and successful.
Let's Look forward to a great week!
