DIBELS Testing

DIBELS: Testing will be in the gym. Karen has a schedule in the office.
Pennies for Patients: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fund raiser will run for two weeks, Jan. 26-Feb. 6. Danielle M. & Sarah S. have graciously taken the lead on it for this year. Here are the highlights of how it will work (more info to come via email):
Goal: $4,000 or more. If we reach the goal we'll have a school wide crazy hair day, Miles will dye his hair, and Arturo will shave what's left of his !
Timeline: Jan. 26-Feb. 6
Activities: Have a table at PTA family nights, make daily announcements
Four: Class that raises the most gets lunch from the Olive Garden
Money: Money was collected at 10 am last year. This was a bit too tight for teachers to have the money counted so this year it will be collected starting at 2 pm.
Health Screening:Dolora will be finishing up the few remaining rescreenings that need to be completed. She will begin at approx. 8:45 am. She will be working around DIBELS and everything else that is going on.
Writing Assessment:Please keep in mind that we are commited to a fall, winter, and spring writing assessment. The District Writing Materials Master Copies binders were collected from all schools last month for updating. Instead of continuing to use paper copies, the winter and spring writing materials have been placed on the new Windows shared PSD Storage server. To access the Writing Materials for winter and spring, go to District Shared > Assessment > Teacher Info > Writing Materials. There you will find prompts, COS Anchors, and Conventions Anchors for grades 3 - 6. There are no spring materials for 4th grade since students take the Writing WASL. In the near future, teachers will receive directions to access the Teacher Info folder on the Shared PSD server. If you have questions, please see Patti, Miles, or Arturo.
Reading Assessement: Please keep in mind that the District Reading Comprehension testing window is this week, January 26 - 30. Envelopes with scan sheets and reading passages are due by Tuesday, February 3. Please refer to the email that Patti Nance sent out on 1/22/09.
