Collaboration & Teaming: This week we will have another district training. The topic is...computational fluency. Please accommodate for the afternoon training with your flex time. We are unsure if other schools will be joining us. If they do we'll start at 1:30 pm; If they are not then we'll start at 1:00 pm.
ELL Testing: This week the ELL program is required to complete a student assessment for state reporting purposes. The testing is anticipated to take the week so regular ELL groups will not be running. Although we have three ELL instructors, the point of contact regarding scheduling is Mrs. Patricia Conkle. Since she works at two different sites the best way to make contact with her is via email.
CNN Broadcast: We will hold CNN on Thursday this week due to no school on Friday.
Valentines Day Celebrations: Just wanting to state the obvious regarding Valentines Day parties (because that is what they are): they shouldn't exceed the half hour, if students are bringing cards or other items then they must bring for all students, although many classes are holding the event during lunch it is not a requirement that it be held at a specific time (although if there is sugar to be had you might want to consider the effects kicking in after school). Please help support the recess time by not letting them take items out for recess.
PACK Leadership: Please take a moment to review the minutes from this Tuesday's P.A.C.K. Leadership meeting. Topics include: Family Math Night, Read Across America/Dr. Seuss Celebration, Read Aloud Curriculum/Art Work, Penny Drive Extended, Next Report Card, Classes/Sections Next Year, Looping.
Olweus Topic of the Week: Now is the time to check in with students about our "hands off" school policy. What does this mean? What should you do if someone is "hands on" even if they say they are "just messing around" or "just playing"? What does constitute appropriate play at school?
