Wednesday Assemblies: The assemblies are put on by the Pacific Science Center and is called the Super Cool Science Show. You and the kids will not want to miss it. If you have a specialist during that time, the specialist with cover your classrooms.
Mad Scientist Night: Reminder that you can support our Mad Scientist night by dressing up like a scientist during the day as well as at the actual event. If you are interested in doing some demonstrations, please let Amy Gerber know.
MLK Jr. Assembly: Our intent is to have everyone seated and ready to go by 9 am. The seating format will be similar to last year.
Olweus Topic for the Week: What are some good qualities about yourself? Let's talk about why it's so important to feel good about yourself. How would all this help to prevent bullying?
Email and Confidentiality: A friendly reminder that we do need to be sensitive to the amount of information that is being sent out regarding students via email; particulary on referrals to S/TAT, SRC, or testing results. At times it can appear that we are holding such meetings on the net. Please use discretion as to what type of information/data is being communicated.
Rat Update: Thank you to the staff for your intentional effort of putting food items away in a secure place. A comment that was made during the last staff meeting was that they can and do chew through plastic. However, you can always use a glass container-which requires more care to avoid it breaking.
New Overload Numbers: Our official count was this last Monday. The new hours do not take place until the first week of February. This means that the current para support schedule will continue until then. Please don't be surprised if you have a change in who is assigned as your para. We will communicate any such changes with you before our implementation week.
Committee Meetings this Week: Please take a look on the committee listed on the right side of this blog. New info on PACK Leadership and Diversity Committee. If you still need help getting all of this into an iGoogle home page, please set up a time to meet with Miles and bring your laptop for configuration.
Parking Lot: Since we have returned from the vacation, Miles and the paras on parking lot patrol along with a few parent volunteers have been reinforcing our expedited parking and pick-up/drop-off program. Please take a moment to review these by clicking on the yellow diamond link on the www.CarsonCoyotes.com home page. A special thank you to many of the staff who have been volunteering their time to help with enforcing the improved safety rules both at the parking area and the bus lanes! Carson KUDOS to you all!
