Celebrations...
Food Drive: 1,520 lbs of food was raised to support our local food bank! The food is packed up and ready to be picked up on Monday at 9:00! I did not take any pictures this year so if you'd like it to be on the website we can get a few "action shots" on Monday while we are loading it into the trucks. Veteran's Day: What a fabulous celebration! Thank you to our music teacher, Jill Burch, for her hard work putting together an exceptional program! The kids did great and the turnout of Veterans was exceptional! I heard nothing but positive comments about the assembly. KUDOS to all who helped put together this terrific event to honor our Veterans!
United Way: As of today we have collected over $3000 from Carson staff members! Thank you so much for all who have contributed! There still is an opportunity for you to do so over the next couple of weeks if you are interested or able. Check with Miles for more details. We certainly are making a difference for our community!
WEEK CALENDAR:
- TAC/Report Card: TAC is open. Please refer to the instruction info Arturo sent out on Friday. Contact helpdesk for tech challenges or Karen for questions about process. In addition, this Monday there will be a short get together for Q & A in the ELL room. We'll fire up the computers if needed. This is an optional gathering for those individuals coming with questions, ideas, etc. regarding the report card. The timeline PACK Leadership identified for submitting to Arturo or Miles is the week of Nov. 23rd-Nov. 30th. Currently, report cards are scheduled to be sent home with students Dec. 2nd.
- Bess Proxy is going away! Your computer internet connection will now be much more open to web sites previously closed off! Be sure to follow the instructions sent out by ITC if your computer has issues getting onto the internet on Monday.
- OLWEUS Topic. How do you respond when someone tells you a rumor about someone? What should our response be? What are the consequences of spreading rumors?
- Observations: If you are a certificated staff member, please be sure to schedule and complete your first observation with Miles or Arturo before winter break. See Karen for placing dates on the Google calendar.
- Student Conversations: As we balance convenience and opportunty to speak with colleagues, please remember to discuss students in secure areas throughout the school. A secure area isn't always necessarily a closed and empty room, but it is an environment where the conversation will not unintentionally be overhead by others.
- GiftMakers--Thank you to those who have brought in some small sports items for our GiftMakers contributions into the staff room. Please consider purchasing a few small items to add to the tub so Puyallup children who may enjoy a wonderful holiday this Christmas. In addition to sports items, small electronics items are also acceptable. See ideas written on the white board in the staff room. Again, thank you for donating!
- Spirit Day this month is Color Splash Day on Friday. Here are the colors:
Pre-school, your kiddos get to wear BLACK that day.
Kindergarten, your kiddos get to wear ORANGE that day.
First grade, your kiddos get to wear PURPLE that day.
Second grade, your kiddos get to wear RED that day.
Third grade, your kiddos get to wear BLUE that day.
Fourth grade, your kiddos get to wear GREEN that day.
Fifth grade, your kiddos get to wear PINK that day.
Sixth grade, your kiddos get to wear YELLOW that day.
*Office Staff and Admin., Paras, Specialists--you get to pick your color! :)
