November 23-27, 2009

Celebrations...

  • Our very own Stephanie Wall and Sandi Adams-Ahlers have been recognized as officially having completed their National Boards. Way to go ladies! Now, take a deep breath and have a RELAXING weekend!
  • We have contributed over $3500 to the United Way! Our goal was $2500 so we have hit this one out of the ballpark. I stood with great pride and shared this to all district admin at a meeting this week. Way to go Coyotes! PS. Don't forget to add to the wonderful collection of items already building for Giftmakers contributions in the staff room. Thanks to all that have already so kindly added to the items to support Puyallup families!
  • Put December 5th on your calendar starting at 7:00pm for our First Annual Texas Hold 'Em Night to be hosted at Miles's house! A sign up form will be in the staff room this week. Spouses are welcome and more info on the game will be written on the poster. You need not be an experienced player to come and have fun playing cards with great people! I hope to see you there! I know I will be, but I already live there, at least once in awhile when I get to leave Carson, that is!

Spirit Assembly: This is scheduled to start at 1:40 pm. The last assembly was a learning experience with dismissal being more entangling than anticipated (this the time adjustment). Please have primary students come with their coats ready to be dismissed directly out to recess.

Staff Meeting: Our staff meeting is scheduled to start promptly at 7:25. Don't forget that we have pie, coffee and cider as a way to bring in a little Thanksgiving a couple days early. Please come early to get you slice and make yourself comfortable. We will open with a presentation on levy information with guests Superintendent Dr. Apostle, PEA President Karen MacNamara, and School Board member Diane Sealey. See you all there!

LIC Wednesday: Don't forget that this is a comp afternoon as part of the MOU between PSD and PEA. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and families.

Report Cards: can be submitted to Miles and Arturo anytime this week. The drop dead date is Nov. 30th. There's a link on the left hand column of general report card info for your quick reference. We'll continue to update as we get more information. Our cut-off for A.R. reading is Nov. 20th-no exceptions :)

SARGS has had the following assessments uploaded as of two weeks ago: DIBELS/ORF for grades K, 1, 2, 3 and selected students in grades 4 & 5 ; WRI for Grade 2 ; Reading Comprehension Grades 3, 4, 5 & 6 ; and DRP for Grade 6.

Classrooms Over Holidays: Before you head out for Thanksgiving, please take a bit of time to assure that food/snacks etc. are not being left out over the Thanksgiving break. Anything that needs to be tossed should be in/by the garbage can. Just trying to avoid critters moving in on us. We dont' want the professor returning for more rodents. Also, think green and be sure all laptops, desktop computers, and video projectors are completely shut down over the long weekend!
