Health Screening: Please note that Health Screening will be occurring on Monday. Room 19 (Mrs. Anders music room and stage will be used). Unless you hear differently, please anticipate having music in your classroom if your students are being served by Mrs. Anders.
Professional Development at Carson: What should professional development look like at Carson this year? We want staff in their grade-level team meetings to have a discussion about what their needs are as well as what training and support
they need this year. Your PACK representatives will make a decision, based on the input they receive from you at the next PACK Leadership meeting on Monday, December 5th.
Building Security: An email from Perry Wisdom was sent to all administrators. District security officers have been responding to intrusion alarms and encountering different individuals in buildings. Consequently to address the problem of verifying/assuring that people are who they say they are and have access to the facility, all staff across the district will be required to wear their PSD ID badges (this also references after school hours/non-work days). Training will be given to staff that need training on how to turn off the alarm. Staff who do not wear or have their badges will be escorted out of the building by PSD security even if they have keys. Ouch!
Carson staff, we have our own system that works to avoid false alarms, if we are careful to honor it. We must be diligent about using our sign-in /sign-out sheet located at the front door. In addition, there are also directions on how to use the school’s intercom system to inform other staff that you are activating the alarm in the building. The intercom is located on the desk area of the front counter. Directions to use the intercom are attached to the system at the bottom (see pic to the right).
Veteran’s Program & PT A
November 14th after the PTA 6:00pm meeting, there will be another presentation honoring our Veterans. This program featuring our 5th grade choir will begin at 6:30 pm.
Giftmakers: If you are planning on purchasing an item for Giftmakers, know that we received a list of things that people might be interested in purchasing just in case you're not wanting to come up with an item yourself. The box is in the staff room.
Math Report Card Information: John Parker sent out an email to all district K-5 staff this last week in which he included an attachment that indicates what is to be scored on the report card for this first trimester.
