Diversity Symposium
March 7th is an EC day. However, the staff will participate that evening at the Diversity Symposium from 4:00-8:00. Staff will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sessions regarding Northwest Native American culture, history, storytelling, dance, art and more. Teachers will be able to attend 3-4 sessions of their choosing and receive clock hours. All staff should sign up for the class on the Professional Development Website under #4159 Symposium. This training, on the evening of March 7th, will take the place of our April 11th PR time. Let Andrea and Arturo know if you are not able to make the evening Symposium training on March 7th. You will be informed of the place of the training in the coming days.
Karshner Museum Update
The Karshner Museum manager is recovering from back surgery and will be returning to work on a limited basis beginning in March. Previously cancelled fieldtrips will be rescheduled as calendar space allows.
In coming days, classroom teachers will receive an email message regarding visits which need to be rescheduled. With this message will come a suggested NEW date and time for the visit. Please make every effort to accept the new fieldtrip appointment as suggested.
For the remainder of the 2011-12 school-year, the museum will not be opened for visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Thank you for your patience in this matter. We realize that the museum is an important part of Puyallup School District tradition, and will work to improve services as time and health allow.
